Cofty,
My question is: Is it claimed that mutations in and of themselves play a beneficial part in evolution?
what is god's spirit?
.
i ask this of those who believe in god.

Cofty: New genetic material is added to genomes through copying errors. Sometimes whole genomes get duplicated.
Am I to take it then that man's ability to think and to create as no other animal can is due to "copying errors"? Truly?
Also, what is the difference between mutations and "copying errors"? If you don't mind my asking.
You keep bringing up my reading history. Why not stick to the particulars of the argument? If you believe I am ignorant on some point then bring up the facts which prove my ignorance. And I mean facts not general statements of disagreement.
Trust me, if you bring up facts, real facts, which prove me wrong I will admit to it. I'm not bothered by ego.

melita jaracz' life story (september 15, 2015 watchtower) said her husband ted jaracz died on wednesday, june 9, 2010. .
this was exactly one week after raymond franz died on wednesday, june 2, 2010. .
jaracz once helped to "kill" franz.
Steve2,
Jaracz' beady eyes would have prevented me from being attracted to him, big time. Big beautiful eyes are my weakness something, among other great traits, my late wife had.

recently there was a thread where someone asked if there was a copy of crisis of conscience they could purchase.
raymond franz it seems had limited resources yet he was able to provide crisis of conscience in printed form to what?
thousands?
Additionally, perhaps Ray Franz felt anyone he trusted with copyright after his death might in time add their own addendum to his works something he could not control.
This to me makes the most sense.

Thanks for all the input folks.
I've come to the conclusion that if Cynthia Franz really wanted Ray's books kept in the pipeline she would have appointed someone to make that so either in print or electronically. The Commentary Press site which at one time made Ray's books available both in print and electronically appears to be in a vegetative state.
Thus, it seems to me, that she made no plans to continue the publishing of his books or that perhaps Ray did not give her explicit instructions to do so.
I am therefore not going to pursue the discussion. She, they, must have had their reasons and I respect that.

so man was made by god in his image was he?.
so the human body was intelligently designed was it?.
you are kidding me !!.
Village Idiot: The Universe shows order and disorder but not intelligence.
Why would an intelligent God create galaxies and then smash them together?
Great question! An intelligent mind appreciates order, we ourselves use order in just about everything. But an intelligent mind also appreciates randomness. Disorder in the right place and circumstance can be extremely interesting. An unchanging universe would not be as exciting and interesting to the human mind as one which is both orderly and disorderly as the universe is.
The random luck of the draw in card playing adds to the intelligent mind's interest in the game. We can see this play out in the universe and in the natural world where both have an order and a seeming disorder to them, a randomness. It all adds to the mystery, the beauty, the enjoyment of life.
Also, we cannot dismiss the possibility that colliding galaxies serve a purpose unknowable at this time. Perhaps a seeding of sorts, who can know.

Cofty, does natural selection introduce new genetic material into the species? Or does it in fact favor a trait that is already genetically present but not always pronounced in every individual of a particular species or allows an individual animal whose coloring, or other natural trait, is more advantageous to survive in greater numbers and produce more offspring.
But does natural selection actually create new genetic material which in turn eventually causes great changes in an animal line? If this is the case than knowing how DNA works how does natural selection cause a change in the DNA strand of a particular individual or group to include something which was not there in the first place? Is it not true that genetic mutation is credited for the changes in DNA that are necessary for the claimed evolving of a species?

Giordano: Instead and what is generally in agreement among the conscious class of humans is...... 'go science'. Get more cures for cancer, grow new body parts from basic cells, continue to help us live longer etc. etc. None of which, as far as I can tell, god has participated in. If god created life he has left it up to humans to tame life. And only science provides an understanding on how to manage and at times control the life that already exists........... especially all of the deadly and harmful life forms be it disease, germs, dangerous critters and dangerous humans that this creator has left us to contend with. We may not be able to create life....yet but we have become more skilled in dealing with the life that does exist..
Science did not create the immune system neither did it create the complex organs and organ systems within which the organs must operate in conjunction with one another or not at all. The respiratory system, for example, is a physically and chemically complex apparatus whose many parts must all function in conjunction with one another. Any significant deviation, any significant genetic mutation in any of its parts corrupts the whole system. Are we to believe that such a system is merely the product of blind mutations? Of trial and error?
If so, then why is it that scientists do not loudly oppose the abortion of fetuses with multiple genetic defects? After all there could be a new forward step in the making. Why does science in practice not support survival of the fittest and oppose vaccination in order that the species may be enhanced. I can only assume it is because when it comes to evolution science speaks out of one side of its mouth but in practice out of the other.
Neither did science create all the subtle expressions in a woman's face that serve to signal not just her mood but her very thoughts...sexual or otherwise. I had pleasure with my wife and that pleasure was not just sexual satisfaction it was the pleasure of holding beauty personified.
Science did not give me that. Neither did a blind process called evolution nor its mother abiogenesis.

Thanks Steve2,
I have a hard copy left me by my late wife. What I was hoping was to somehow resurrect Raymond Franz' writings for the many who have never read them.
If you have a link to what you would consider a "safe" download site for his books please, if you do not mind doing so, post it if possible on this thread.
I would still hope that the copyright owner will put his books either up for sale again, at a reasonable price, or put them on his Commentary Press site.
Thanks again.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm of the notion that to have hard copy in hand lends more credibility to the material than an electronic copy. But I recognize that may be due to what I have been accustomed to.
What a great thing it would be to have Crisis of Conscience and Christian Freedom online in PDF at least. I would think that whoever has control of the Commentary Press site may also have control of the electronic copies as well. Why not keep the tribute to Ray and Cynthia and also provide the PDF of his works?
This coming Tuesday, June 2, 2015, will be the 5th anniversary of his death. How fitting it would be if his books were made available to all who with just a click and could read what he had to say and make their own judgements.
If the owner of that site is reading this please consider expanding Commentary Press allowing it to become Ray's voice.
